Esperanto Material available from SEA and other Sources

The Association because of its being a small-scale organisation makes no attempt to compete with the Esperanto-Association of Britain with which it enjoys a co-operative relationship. It also bears in mind that Esperanto belongs to an international culture which includes the commercial services of the Universal Esperanto-Association in Rotterdam and the Flemish Esperanto League in Antwerp.

However, the Scottish Esperanto Association has particular responsibilities in Scotland which it takes seriously and intends to develop.

The Association stocks posters, leaflets and other publicity material which are appropriate for Scotland. Members of the Association who have the ability to utilise this type of material are asked to contact the Association in order to indicate their particular needs.

It also stocks a collection of basic textbooks (although it should be remembered that Esperanto textbooks can be purchased from all good booksellers and also are available from online suppliers) and is the sole supplier of the Condensed Esperanto Course and a pack of material for children.

Other educational material is available for download from this site free-of-charge.

All enquiries regarding Scottish publications should be sent to:

If you have wider requirements we recommend that you contact the Esperanto Association of Britain book service preferably by telephone as EAB is in a transitional situation before being relocated in its new HQ which will probably be at Wedgwood Memorial College.

Another possibility, if you are prepared to utilise online credit card ordering is Flemish Esperanto League. The site is secure, professionally organised and often includes book reviews. It is, of course, in Esperanto; but even the intermediate student will have little difficulty in navigating the site. Have a browse without any obligation and you will realise the extraordinary diversity of the Esperanto publishing scene.

It is encouraging to report that the Universal Esperanto Association has at last committed itself firmly to the Net. Its site has gone through a dramatic transformation; and includes useful information about Esperanto in several languages. The extensive book catalogue of UEA is now searchable and orders can be accepted. All elements are not yet in place, but it merits extensive browsing. Have a look; you will not be disappointed!

In conclusion, it is worth mentioning that the online bookshops of FEL and UEA both utilise Unicode; so with a modern browser you will be able to read the special Esperanto characters without any difficulty.

Hopefully, this page will encourage you to purchase Esperanto books. A healthy book market is an essential part of Esperanto culture. Play your part in its stimulation, and encourage our publishers and living authors!
