The Scottish Esperanto Association was founded in 1903. It is an independent body, but in consultative relationship with the Esperanto Association of Britain.

All the Esperanto societies and groups in Scotland are affiliated to the Association; it also, apart from serving its own members, relates with members of any other Esperanto organisations who live in Scotland.

Its role is to advocate the international use of Esperanto and also to use Esperanto as a vehicle for the dissemination of Scottish culture.

The Scottish Esperanto Association organises courses, a study weekends, social events and an annual congress.

Its official organ is Esperanto en Skotlando which has been appearing since 1947.

Membership is open to anyone from any country.
