Agreement reached with Stoke-on-Trent!The EAB solicitor has just informed trustee and chief negotiator, Bill Walker, that agreement concerning all outstanding matters has now been achieved concerning the new HQ for EAB at Wedgwood Memorial College. The Architect will be officially informed so that he may enter into immediate discussions with the Staffordshire builder who won the contract. The building operations involve the conversion and extension of the old coach house. The architectural quality of the work will be high because of the fine buildings which already constitute Wedgwood College. The accommodation will consist of an office, the Butler Library, three bedrooms and some minor rooms. Hopefully work will begin this autumn and will be finished in spring 2002. Thanks are due to Bill and the EAB solicitor for their hard work, and to the Principal and staff of Wedgwood for their co-operation. The negotiations have taken more than a year because of contractual complexity and because of the desire of the Association to act with the greatest of prudence. This agreement is perhaps the most important development for the British Esperanto community during the past fifty years. Hopefully, many positive results will ensue in the months and years to come!
