English or Esperanto?One-Day Esperanto CourseFor the first time a one day Esperanto Course, offered by the University of Glasgow Department of Adult and Continuing Education, was successfully conducted on the 25th October at St. Andrew's Building, Eldon Street, Glasgow.
Nine mature students enrolled for the course. All of them had some previous knowledge of the language.
After an overview of Esperanto past and present, the students were divided into two classes: elementary for those with no oral skills and post-elementary for those ready to deepen their knowledge.
With the two tutors to nine intelligent students, the learning process was fast, and after lunch all participants enjoyed the conversation adjusted to individual level, covering a fairly wide range of topics.
The course was enjoyed by all participants who at the end all expressed a desire to continue their learning process via internet.
For that purpose Sally-Ann Hoyne has set up a chat room on the Scottish site www.scotlando.org/class which started on the 10th of November between 20 to 21 hours, and will continue every week at the same time.
