New Editor for Esperanto en SkotlandoEd Robertson, the new editor of Esperanto en Skotlando, is 48 and lives in Edinburgh. He first learned the basics of Esperanto at school, but did not start actively using the language until about twelve years ago. He is the author of Esperanto: A Condensed Course, published recently by SEA. He has given talks at various Scottish Esperanto Congresses and Study Weekends and elsewhere over the years on a variety of subjects from 'The History of Computer Programming' to 'Deciphering the Etruscan Language'. Formerly a teacher and translator of German, his present employment is developing software for veterinary practices, which he has also been involved with for many years. But his real passion, other than Esperanto, is historical linguistics. He is currently also translating the short stories of Scottish author Irvine Welsh into Esperanto. |
