Einstein Theme for Dunblane weekend 2005

The theme for this year's Study Weekend will be "Einstein Year". One hundred years ago Albert Einstein shocked the scientific world when he published his Special Theory of Relativity. The publication was so groundbreaking that even general public were caught up with the consternation of the scientific community.

Physicists worldwide are celebrating the centenary of the event in "Einstein Year" and you may have already seen television programmes about Einstein and his theory. We in the Scottish Esperanto Association are honouring this year's events in our Study Weekend (Studrondo). We will be asking what relativity is all about, what relevance does it have today, whether it is still valid. And we'll be having a look at Einstein and his life.

It won't be too serious or mind-bending, though. We'll have games and a quiz, and items which have nothing to do with Einstein at all! Our excursion, for example, is to the "Scottish Pineapple" and Airth Castle and Hotel.

The dates for your diary are 3rd and 4th of September 2005.

This year the Annual Study Weekend of the Scottish Esperanto Association is being organised by Hugh Reid and Ute Davis and will take place as usual in Scottish Churches House, Dunblane.
