Yalta Theme for Aberdour

The annual Zamenhof Celebration will take place as is customary in the Boat Club, Aberdour. The Club is beside the small picturesque harbour. Scottish Esperantists feel that the venue is one of the most scenic in Scotland, with views of the islands on the River Forth and the romantic skyline of Edinburgh across the estuary.

The Celebration will start at 1400 for 1430 on Saturday 3rd December 2005.

The guest-of-honour will be Ian MacDowall from Liverpool. He will be speaking about his recent visit to Yalta in the Ukraine: a visit with a fascinating Esperanto dimension.

There will, of course, be the usual festive elements during the afternoon.

Aberdour is easily reached by train from Edinburgh; so a car is not really necessary.

Organiser David Hannah, who lives in Aberdour, is hoping for an even better attendance than last year.

The afternoon is meant for beginners as well as expert Esperanto speakers; so please put the date in your diary!
